started a shop in Florence and a school of training for wannabe watch-makers.
Initially, he supplied precision instruments to the Italian navy. Later, he
started supplying watches as well. The highlight of these watches was the
radium coated elements which made it easier for the offshore navy soldiers to
know and measure time during darkness. A few years later, these watches were
manufactured on a regular production basis and made available to the public
too. Constant research and development were done to make fine automatic
watches. These watches soon became a rage and earned a lot of popularity among
