Blancpain is manufacturer of Swiss luxury watches. This company designs, manufacture, distributes, and sells prestigious and luxurious watches. This company has founded approximately 1735, about 285 years ago by Jehan – Jacques Blancpain.

Since 1992, Blancpain is a subsidiary company of Swiss swatch group also it is regarded as a top brand of watches. The Brand is also known for its best product, such as Fifty Fathoms diving watches. This company is also famous in the whole world for the product which is introduced in the year 1991 that is Grand complication wristwatch.

History of Blancpain 

In 1735 Jehan – Jacques Blancpain started work in Villeret, Switzerland to make a watch. Frederic – Louis Blancpain was the head of the Blancpain who was the grandson of Jehan Jacques Blancpain modified and transformed the production of the watches into industrial serial production by replacement of the crown wheel mechanism to the cylinder escapement, so Frederic Louis play an important role of an introducer of a major innovation into the watch making world.

Blancpain established a new factory in 1865 by River Suze and made water power useful to the electricity supply that is necessary for the process of production. 

Blancpain reorganized the company with the John Hardwood into a partnership and started the marketing of the first automatic wristwatch in 1926.

After the end of the family’s management of the firm in 1932. Betty Fiechter remained the director of Blancpain until 1950.

By joining such brands Omega SA, Tissot, Lemanin, company became a part of SSIH in 1971.

SSIH sold the company to the Jacques Piguet in 1983.

In 1992 SSIH purchased the company back and known as the Switch Swatch group and merged into the Blancpain.
